December 9th is known as International Anti-Corruption Day since the passage of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in 2003. This year, we took the opportunity to engage in various activities, spreading the word about the FALCON project. In particular, we posted numerous video statements on Twitter/X, in which consortium members highlight the motivation and unique approach of FALCON. In addition, FALCON participated in the online event “Advances in Anti-Corruption: Current Trends and Future Prospects”.
At this event organized by two other anti-corruption research projects funded by the European Union, BIT-ACT and RESPOND, several FALCON consortium members were present. FALCON coordinator Jenny Adamoupoulo presented FALCON, expanding on our approach, our specific goals, and the progress made during FALCON’s first year. More information on the event can be found at https://site.unibo.it/bit-act/en/events/advances-in-anti-corruption-current-trends-and-future-prospects.
Twitter/X campaign
On Twitter/X, we made use of video material filmed partly at the 3rd FALCON plenary in Strasbourg and partly at the very recent 4th FALCON plenary in Karlsruhe, to post a large number of statements by consortium members on the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day 2024. The protagonists of the statement illustrate the broad spectrum of different areas of expertise and different nationalities represented in the FALCON consortium: They include representatives of law enforcement agencies (the “end users” in the context of FALCON), social scientists, and technical experts from both research institutions and companies.
Here we show some examples – for all video statements, please visit our Twitter/X account (and feel free to follow us there!).
